Finally!!! I only have 4 more sleeps til I leave to come home!!!

I am in Charlottetown again today on Prince Edward Island. I have just skyped Chris and then Nathan, Ky and Mum which was very cool. I am thinking it’s time I got my suitcases out and started packing.

The last two cruises have gone well. We did Music and Motorcity for the last time last cruise as the new cast are doing both those shows this cruise in handover and we’re doing the other three shows. The new cast got onboard in New York and are a lovely bunch. The three girl dancers are all first timers. Tod the line captain has been around for a long while and the two singers have done a number of contracts too. Sofe, my replacement is really nice and bubbly and my size (mostly)… this is a good thing for costume guys.. they don’t have much to alter for hers then.

The seas have been rough this cruise. We had to reschedule our first show because of it. It was some of the roughest seas I’ve ever felt and the next night wasn’t much better, but thankfully it was more in the middle of the night so I slept through most of it.

Last cruise Stacey Sokil and I did a number of tours together which I’ve uploaded some photos of. We spent the day exploring Quebec; we went on the ‘Anne of Green Gables’ experience in Charlottetown. In Sydney we went out to the Louisburg Fort. In Boston, we did the Presidents tour to John Adams former residence and the JFK museum. In Halifax, Lorraine took us all out to lunch and in Portland a group of us met up for Gordon’s birthday lunch. In New London Dave and Nipples and I went to see the world’s first nuclear submarine the Nautilus.

This time in New York we had much better weather. Dave, Kyle and I got off and spent the day together visiting Time Square and then going up the Empire State Building. This cruise due to the weather we arrived late in Boston, so the tour Stacey and I were going to do together out to Salem was cancelled, so we shopped instead. Not a good idea with the dollar the way it is now. Most ports now I’m getting off just to internet. I need to start packing up my room and Dave and I are trying to get through 2 seasons of Heroes before we go.

I really just want to be home now. What a great contract though! This itinerary has been so amazing and I have been able to see some fantastic places.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone when I get home. My flight gets in on Friday morning (31st). 4 more sleeps.

Lots of love

2 weeks and 4 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today, I’m in Charlottetown on our way down south again on my second last cruise before coming home.

Last cruise Nathan (my bro) met me in New York (hence the photos) and sailed with the ship up to Montreal. First port after New York was New London. There’s not a great deal to do there so we did a tour to the local Aquarium, which is like a mini sea world. I absolutely fell in love with Beluga Whales, they are so beautiful!! (see photos)

In Boston we did a tour out to Cambridge to see Harvard University. Hurricane Kyle was due to hit that afternoon so consequently the Captain decided not to sail that night and we ended up having an overnight in Boston, which meant we would miss our next port, Bar Harbour the next day. Overnights are relished when we get them which is like never, so we had a fun night and made the most of it.

Next we arrived in Canada in St John. There, we did a highlights tour, went out to see the reversing rapids and later walked around town. In Halifax, Nathan, Sokil and I were very lucky to go on a limo tour which took us around town and out to Peggy’s Cove to see the lighthouse. What a way to sight see in style!! Being driven around in a limo was very cool.

In Sydney, we did a scenic tour out of town to the surrounding areas. At this time of year, their Fall, the changing colour of the leaves is truly beautiful. On our tour we heard stories of how people have at times flown to Sydney, Nova Scotia thinking it was Sydney, Australia…. Are people really that dumb???

In Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, Nathan and I did a scenic tour that took us out to where Lucy Maud Montgomery lived. Lucy was the author of Anne of Green Gables and area that she lived is the setting of her Anne books. Although cold that day, the skies were crystal clear so the setting looked even more beautiful…. even the haunted woods. We were served a lobster lunch that day too. A whole lobster! I’ve never eaten one like that before… it was yummy!!

In Port Saguenay, Quebec, Nathan and I went on a hike in the National Park on another gorgeous day!! The scenery and the colour of the leaves were truly beautiful. See the photos.

In Quebec City, Nathan, Nipples, Sokil and I did the same tour I’d done with Chris. This time however I got to do it with clear skies and not in fog and rain. It was beautiful!!!! See some of the photos.

In Montreal we did a walking tour, saw the stunning Notre Dame church Celine Dion was married in, then went shopping and to the movies before finally saying goodbye.

Life on board for Nathan was an experience. He got to relax, see my shows, enjoy great food, meet Lorraine (our ship’s Godmother) and over all got to see what life onboard a ship for us is really like. I think it’s safe to say he had a great time! Nathan is now back in New York spending a few days there before heading home.

The new cast that is replacing us gets onboard when we get back down to New York and so our last cruise back up to Montreal is our Handover cruise to them.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to come home. I can’t wait!!!!

Lots of love
