Fires

So, Sunday turned out to be an eventful day! Sunday's bushfires came a little too close for comfort. Scheyville National Park, located at the top of our road majorly went up in flames, and unfortunately houses were lost. Lucky for us the direction of the wind was in our favour.

The photo with the flames is when the wind momentarily changed direction towards us which was a little scary. But then it changed and went on to destroy poor old Nancy Weiss' home. After the fire had passed through, Chris and I went on a big walk to check out the damage to the park. You can see by one of the photo's Chris took the extent of the damage to the park. On our exploration we came across a bogged tender from East Kurrajong. Poor buggars had been sitting around for 40 mins waiting for someone to pull them out.

So on top of bushfires, my nephew Liam celebrated his 4th birthday with the Chicken pox and we all ended up sitting around eating Pizza by candlelight listening to Idol on the radio.

Rehearsals

Today I had my first day of rehearsals. The cast of 12 consists of 5 guys and 7 girls. I didn't really get a chance to mingle with them today as Dave (male lead singer) and I spent the day in vocal rehearsals. Dave and I worked together in the Pacific Princess in 2003 (pictured right) so we are both really excited to be working together again and enjoyed catching up today. The first show we are learning is Country Roads. Lucky for me I get alot of the good songs in that one... poor Dave gets one's such as Achy Breaky Heart.... I wonder if he'll have a mullet wig to wear for that one :)
